Shaka

Name: Shaka (name of a great Zulu tribal leader)
Gender: Male
Age: 2 years (almost an adult)
Appearance: Shaka is a well-built lion with what has been teasingly dubbed a "pretty" face, and large, robin's egg blue eyes. His thick mane is a rich shade of brown, and his fur is sandy in color, with a lighter tint on his stomach, mouth, and around his eyes.
Personality: When you first meet Shaka, you may take him for the cool, silent type who only speaks when absolutely necessary... but you couldn't be more wrong. Shaka's deferential, unflappable attitude is merely a cover-up for his inherent shyness. Once you get to know him better, you will find that he is talkative, amiable, and in possession of a rather quirky sense of humor.
Overall, then, Shaka is a fun, kind, and trustworthy friend-- but he is also very loyal to his own ideals, and feels threatened and hurt when others contradict them. After all, his father taught him everything he knows, and he can't believe that anything his dad said was wrong. He may also hold a grudge for a while if you cross him, but he can't bring himself to give up on a friendship, and will always come back around.
History: Shaka is a young rogue who has left his family to find a pride of his own, as all maturing males must do. He had a relatively easy childhood growing up in Mohatu's pride (for his story takes place long before Simba was born), but now that drought has forced him out of his homeland, he must use all his strength and courage to survive in a harsh world he was never fully prepared to face.
