I was just wondering if anyone had any interest in having any sort of writing contest or exhibition. I was looking at how Graphic Artist and Fan Artist contests are such a great way to showcase cool art and also good motivation for all of our artists to do their best work and I wondered if anyone would have any interest in something similar for fanfiction writing? I'd be happy to organize and host the contests, or anyone else who wanted to could.

Just trying to spark some interest among the (awesome) writers on MLK. ^^

Cool! I was thinking logistically they would probably be stories with (and I'm open to suggestion) maybe a two or three thousand word limit? Because people who are voting have to read every story and if they're much longer than that it's going to take a long time for each voter to read through the material. So everyone will submit to me via PM and I'll post them in the voting topic anonymously (IE no name attached to any story) and then you'll vote for the one you think was the best. Sound good? And what period of time do you think we should have for submitting? 2, 3 weeks?

Maybe a thousand word limit is better, though. Some people are lazy, you know? I'd join in and be game for any limit, but I'm just wondering if people would actually read them all the way through if there was like 3000 words. Maybe there should be a topic every time there's a new thread, give people chances to write about different things, you know?

1000 words is shoooort though. Maybe 2000? I'm not sure what you mean about the different threads. :3

Maybe 1000-2000? Sometimes I can write a really good, short story D:

And perhaps we could also have different categories, such as AU, couples and so on.
