A day that began closer to normal. Normal for what happened around Lightning Empire that is. That been said. This Empire has never been the type to do things normally. And sometimes, logical acts and decisions seem to be absent. One for example, having two pregnant mothers be the designated lifeguards. Shani, later that very day, had gone into labour. Part of me wonders if Slate had that arranged intentionally so his mate would have her kids a little bit sooner. After that though, I doubt she would be complaining. She has children to raise now, and Aine could certainly have some prep with actual children before she has her own. These last few months within Lightning have been... the last two seasons moreover, have been far more trialing though than I care to admit to others. I'm not even sure why. Sera and Van made it back to Lightning before we counter raided. I don't feel right about them having to trying their luck to have gotten back. I feel that we could have done more here, to have tried harder, I don't know exactly. Nevertheless, I know I should have been thrilled to have them both back. Meanwhile it was strictly the opposite. I felt and in ways still feel gutted by it. So the raid took place, we got back some. We also lost just as many. So I can't and will not say that was a success. Makes me wonder on a number of things. Some time after that though. Neri had stepped down as Silver. I really worry for her... hell though, can't say I am much better. We both keep so much to ourselves. Trying to talk to her about that was interesting. That may have been part of why she stepped down, thinking about it. This is a better year than the previous, yet it feels like it was a much harder year to me. On the raid the Hunters did against us the year prior. I went from having several family members, to a couple. But then Dionne came back. Just like Sera and Van. I felt gutted, especially after learning everything she had to go through to get back. It makes me wonder what Hells Sera and Van went through. Sera doesn't seem to be any different, but Van certainly is. There was no way she was same either. She had to be hiding it. I find it ironic the loose cannon hides so much. I know her though, she is hiding a lot. ... ... it weird, being in a spot where there is seemingly a lot to do, yet you feel like you are going nowhere. I somewhat think that is part of growing up. Points in your life where you don't feel like you are moving, when you may actually be moving. It's a strange numbness for certain. This last Gathering I didn't go to at all. I wasn't up for the crowds at all. Sera wasn't around camp, so I assume she went. Humph... I wonder if this was being head over heels for someone is like? And here I am saying I am just digging in place. So figuring out this mess of emotion... will be fun. But that itself had to wait too. Like many personal matters of mine. They rarely get to come first. Air Empire... was just wiped off the map. The Hunters have done a raid at a scale I don't they have committed before. I went there once to help them after the fires. Their luck from there has only gone downhill. The least anyone here could do is help. So, I'm going to do just that. If that risks myself and my life. So be it. It's worth it.
