As Mheetu grew and spent more time with Scar, the cub started to change. He was darker, crueler, and dominant over the other cubs. Scar loved this change in the cub, but it worried Sarafina and Nala. Though Mheetu was Scar's son, his gentle nature had always given the pride hope. Hope that when the crown passes from Scar to Mheetu that they would at least have a good ruler. But That no longer seemed to be the case.
"Mheetu, I need to talk to you." Nala said, approaching the cub one night. "It's about Scar..."
"What about him?" Mheetu asked, smiling at his sister. No matter how much he changed, Mheetu still was very close with Nala.
"I think its time you know the truth about Scar." She said softly. "Mheetu, he is a cruel lion... He let the very animals that chased Simba and I, who tried to kill us, into the pride lands... He has killed all of the cubs from Mufasa's rule..."
Mheetu glared at his sister. "That's not true! He let you live." He said firmly.
"He let me live because he wanted to use me. Use me for cubs." She said, thinking about Scar's attempted assault on her earlier that very evening. "He did the same thing to mom... That's... That's how you were born."
"Your lying! Mom and dad care about each other!" He yelled, since that was what he had been told.
"No they don't Mheetu. Mom hates him. All of the lionesses do." She said firmly. "He's a monster who harmed his own pride, chased the herds away with his tyranny, and allows his pride to starve."
"Your lying! Dad's the best! the best king ever!" He shouted at Nala. "Mom should love him! He's the best! And your just jealous because my dads the king, and your dad left you!"
Nala stood there, stunned at his words, and how harsh they were. "Who are you?" She asked, shaking her head. "Your not the Mheetu I remember..."
"Your right, I'm not... I'm much stronger, and one day... I'll be king. Then you'll have to do what I say!" He yelled, before walking away from Nala.
Nala watched him leave, sighing a little bit as he did... Something had to be done... Done about Mheetu and Scar....
