"We don't have to, at least, not for long. It's just....I am really worried for what might happen." I said as I laid a hand on his cheek.

"What do you mean?" I asked. "That you're worried what might happen if people found out that two thirteen-year-olds have been sneaking around, trying to sspende every minute of every day together? Or...something else?" I wrapped my arms around and pulled her close to me.

I took a deep breath, and I said, "I don't know if my dreams will become real or not. And...I just wish that everything would be okay,"

"Oh, right," I said. "Well, we don't have to worry about that right now." 'I don't want to,' I added silently. "Yyou know, I'm taking off time cleaning barnacles just to see you. I don't want this moment to be ruined." I looked at her hair, still up in a ponytail, as it always was whenever I saw her. "Why don't you ever have your hair down?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

I smiled, then I said, "Actually, I don't really know. Heh, I guess it's for my mom," I shrugged.

"Oh. Does your mom like it better if it's up?" I asked. "Technically, my mom likes my hair cut shorter, but..I'm often too lazy to cut it." I looked away for a brief second, a little embarrassed about it.

"Yeah, I guess my mom likes it better up, but...to tell you the truth, I like it down." I looked at Derek, seeing him embarrassed about what he said about his hair. I laid a hand on his cheek, then I said, "Hey, it's okay, Derek, I like your hair long." I smiled at him, hoping he would feel better.

"Well, you'd be the first. But thank you," I said. When I regained myself, I looked up at her and asked, "Do you mind putting it down for me? Just this once?"

Nodding, I reached up to my hair and pulled the hair tie from my hair. My hair came down in waves, coming down just below my shoulders. I blushed a little, then I asked, "What do you think?"

I watched as her hair fell down in waves, shaping her face nicely. "You look amazing! You should have your hair down more often!" I said.
