What is your dream career?

Similar to the "What are you going to be when you are older" topics that people say when they are young. So what are people of MLK want to do as a dream career? (Let me know if there is a topic already like this.)

My dream career Used to be that I wanted to be an animator, but then something happened, and I got fed up with it. I view it as more as a side job, Not as a career that I want to pursue. If anything, I will make YouTube movies on my YouTube.

On December, 21st, 2013, I decided to want to pursue another passion of mine... Weather! I've always been obsessed with Weather, (Mainly Tornadoes.) I don't know what exactly made me want to become a Storm Chaser again, as I went through this phase of where I didn't want to chase them as my favorite Storm Chasers passed away in the El Reno tornado last year. I decided, why be scared of what could happen, and just be brave and enjoy what I've always loved- Weather! I also thought, My favorite storm chasers would of wanted me to chase, so that day I decided that I was going to pursue my dream career of being a Storm Chaser/Meteorologist. I want to chase for science, because there is so much we need to learn about these storms, and I'd love to help save people's lives. I plan on getting a degree in Meteorology at Oklahoma University in Oklahoma.

So what's your story? What is your dream Career and why do you want to pursue it? :)

I'm pursuing my dream career right now, which is to be a wildlife biologist. I'm working on my M.Sc. in Wildlife Biology right now, and hopefully when I'm done, I'll be able to find a research position doing what I love. If not, then I guess I'll just have to apply for a Ph.D. program :P

My dream career is to work in theatre. I've always loved movies and acting since I was little, and used to, I wanted to be an actress or animator. In high school, I was able to take some theatre classes and I loved acting in class despite the nerves. I also enjoyed performing on stage (as long as my role was brief) and working as a stage hand/ crew member for the school's productions. So when I graduated high school, I started going to MTSU as a Theatre major. I chose this school because I'd seen a wonderful production of Romeo & Juliet there while in high school, and that fueled my desire to be involved in theatre somehow.

But in college, while I enjoyed the classes (some of them, anyway) I learned a few things, and a few things were reinforced.

1. It is super hard to get work in theatre, especially as an actor/actress.
2. I am not cut out to actually perform in front of crowds and would need to be a stage hand.
3. You have to take multiple acting classes for a theatre major even if you don't intend to act.
4. I'm too nervous and shy to pass acting classes.
5. The head of the department was a total slimeball.

Not passing classes results in loss of scholarships, which was the only way I was going to school, so it just became impractical to pursue that path. As a result I switched to Art, and now to English... I have a year and a half left, roughly, but I lost my scholarships now anyway, so I wish I'd stuck with Theatre as I don't see myself getting a job with this degree either. I don't really have a choice at the moment, but if I get the opportunity (perhaps when I move to Finland) to go back to school, that's what it will be for. I love everything about Theatre, and my depression actually started getting bad around the time I had to give it up.

So, yeah, that's my dream career. :)

I don't really have a 'dream career' anymore as i've changed my mind so many times over the years that I am just a 'go with the flow' person. One of the few things I am good at is working with horses and I have diplomas in Horse care and training, but there is just no money in it so I turned from that path a good few years back now. I would have liked to have worked on a ranch, but if I did that I would be giving up alot and would have such a low income it just wasn't worth it.

Currently, my plan is to do a course on Dog Grooming and do some freelance stuff once i've got my qualifications aswell as work in the salon which is kinda connected to my current work place.

As a child, I wanted to become a visual artist (mainly with drawing and painting). Throughout my years in elementary and middle school, I still had that career in mind, but also became interested in different things at the same time.

I am entering my last year of high school and heading off to college next year, but I do know what I would like to study despite not knowing exactly what type of career I'll have. I want to major in psychology. As a kid growing up with Autism, my life has really changed and I improved a lot in communication, behavior, and expressing my feelings and problems. I saw therapists when I was in middle school and I love how they can help you when it comes to talking to them about your life and needing help. They can dive inside someone's mind and sense complexity inside the human mind. Hopefully, I can become a successful psychologist, therapist and/or socialist worker. :)
