Who here is actually looking forward to the lion guard?

I do not think the canonicity of anything before The Lion Guard will be called into question. The only thing that disturbs me is that they have yet to mention Kovu as one of the guest stars.

Disney has stated that The Lion Guard is intend for Preschoolers and their families. Now even though Disney is aware that this show will have an older audience. It remains to be seen if they will do anything to acknowledge the older fans of the franchise. However I at least have hope that The Lion Guard will be something more than just an annoying kids show.[/quote]

God I hope your right, me and some other Facebook role players even tried to contact Disney but that didn't go far

That is what make the most sense to me as well, I just don't understand why they have yet to mention Kovu. You think he would be more worth mentioning than Zazu.

Don't take that as a bad sign. I'm sure a huge corporation like Disney wouldn't have the time, or be willing to take the time to listen too. What to them would likely seem like a small group of fans. However there is no reason not to hope for the best regarding The Lion Guard

Personally, I'm really curious about the animation! Judging by the previews, looks like they're using some sort of vector/Flash-based animation and I just can't wait to see it in action! I love what the DHX studio did with the new My Little Pony series and I expect the same quality of smooth and dynamic animation from Disney.

And I'm really, REALLY glad they didn't decide to make it CGI/3D. You know, like that My Friends Tigger & Pooh thing. Seeing Simba as a fluffy 3D model would be HEARTBREAKING. D:

By the way, did they move the premiere date from 2014 to 2015? I'm pretty sure it was supposed to air this year! :0

Every article I've read says The Lion Guard will premier in November of 2015. I thought it would have been awesome to have it premier in the same year that The Lion King celebrated it's 20th anniversary. I wish the idea that inspired The Lion Guard had come just a bit sooner.

As long as it's more story-based (like Doc McStuffins or Sofia the First) rather than education-based (like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Dora the Explorer), I really think it'll be fun to watch even for those of us who are well outside the preschool age group. And hey, if nothing else, there should be new merchandise for it! XD
