TheLionPrince, a possible explanation for the sun error is due to the fact that it is setting.

Not a reference to anything outside of the movie, but after watching TLK for the billionth time, I just noticed this:

Simba: Hey uncle Scar, when I'm king, what will that make you?
Scar: A monkey's uncle.

Then, in the jungle ...

Timon: Hey, what's going on here? Who's the monkey?
Nala: Simba's gone back to challenge Scar!
Timon: Who?
Nala: Scar.
Pumbaa: Who's got a scar?
Nala: No, no, no. It's his uncle.
Timon: The monkey's his uncle?

And voila, the great Circle of Life, ladies and gentlemen. Who's the monkey now, Scar? :P

Maybe it's not quite connected with the film itself, but the titers of TLK 3 contains not all music from the scene when Timon and Pumbaa draw attention of hyenas. "Sabre Dance" from the opera by A. Khachaturian written in the titers, but "Infernal Galop" (so-called "can-can") from the operetta by J. Offenbach not written.
