Just think of it as car maintenance. You lose your car for some time, when you get it back, it's better than before. Nothing to it.
Except that all you lose in this case is access to MLK. Bummer, yes. But not a big deal.

Just out of curiosity, how much data are you copying? How many Gigs is all of MLK?
