Funny. I thought the same way myself when I was little. Glad I'm not alone on this subject.

Here's a few I misinterpret every time:

Simba: Dad? Daad. Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad--
Sarabi: {Over Simba's endless noise of "Dad"s, sleepily} Your son... is awake...
Mufasa: {Also sleepily} Before sunrise, he's YOUR son.

I always think Sarabi says "Son, you're awake." Which is why I get confused by Mufasa's line.


Simba: Everything the light touches. {Simba looks all around. He views the rip-rap canyon to the north} What about that shadowy place?
Mufasa: That's beyond our borders. You must never go there, Simba.
Simba: But I thought a king can do whatever he wants.

For some reason, I hear this as "That's beyond your orders."


Simba: {Disappointed} Well, no... he said I can't go there.
Scar: And he's absolutely right. It's far too dangerous. Only the bravest lions go there.
Simba: Well, I'm brave! What's out th--

I swear it sounds like Scar says "Only the bravest viles go there." It's obvious that isn't what he means, but it sure sounds like it.


Scar: Simba. ...What have you done?
Simba: {Jumps back, crying} There were wildebeests and he tried to save me... it was an accident, I... I didn't mean for it to happen.

I interpret this as "The only reason... he tried to save me."

And the gene pool one. It sounds like he says dream pool, which does kinda make sense, meaning that he's not dreaming of challenging Scar.

It does not at all sound like "Long live the king!" that Shenzi is crowing in Be Prepared and the mishearing has always left me a little uncomfortable.

That's the one line that made me extremely confused xD It doesn't sound like "long live the king" at all to be honest. I think it sounds like she says "Oh I belong to the king" xD
