Overall Opinion of SP.

Simba's Pride General Thoughts (Ratings)

1 - This movie is an utter disgrace to the Lion King franchise. Such a horrible, sickeningly bad movie should never have been made. There is not a single redeeming quality about this film.

2 - This movie was horrible. It only had a few tiny parts I found enjoyable. An unentertaining, unpleasent and unneeded addition to the Lion King.

3 - Has a few small redeeming qualities but not enough to pull this movie from the dirt. I somewhat like a few of the characters, most of them I dislike. Should not have been made, but there are a few sequels worse than this.

4 - Just not a good film, honestly. It was cute, some of the characters were alright but it just lacked the same substance The Lion King had. Maybe for the kids, but I didn't enjoy this film very much.

5 - Mediocre. Some memorable moments, but overall a forgettable though not horrible movie. I'm not a fan of the characters, and I feel this movie was just 'meh' all the way through, not exciting or compelling.

6 - A little better than just mediocre, with catchy songs and nice characters. Although the plot wasn't marvelous, it was still enough to push the film up. I think it wasn't a masterpiece, but a nice little movie to watch with the kids.

7 - A pretty nice movie. I like most of the characters, although I don't exactly love them. I think this was a good addition to the original, and I would watch it again.

8 - A very good addition to TLK, with memorable songs, a clever plot and some unique, new characters to watch. A few general flaws, sure, but not enough to makes this movie bad. I quite like the film.

9 - Excellent movie that I wouldn't mind watching if given the choice. Great music, great story, and truly loveable characters. A worthy addition to TLK. Almost a masterpiece, there were tiny little flaws that drug it down just a little.

10 - A perfect, absolutely amazing film I can watch again and again. Even better than TLK? Perhaps. I love this film and every character, it does a great job of completing the Circle of Life.

Honestly, I'd say it's a 5, mediocre. The more I watch it, the more I see how it really isn't a very well made movie. The movie seems much smaller than the first. I feel like the whole movie basically takes place in the pride lands, apart from a few scenes in the outlands, not far from the pride lands. Also, the colors are quite dull. It gives the movie almost a depressing feel to it. The start of the opening song as well as the background music makes the introduction seem more dark and sad than happy and uplifting. It was severely lacking the energy that it should have had.

Simba's pride had a very tough act to follow. VERY.

I do quite like it. Obviously I can't compare it to the original because overall the animation is better, the story is better, more likeable characters etc. in my opinion. Plus there are far worse Disney sequels

Such as
1. Jungle Book 2
2. Hunchback of NotreDame 2
3. Lady and the Tramp 2 (not too bad but still not good)
4. Little Mermaid 2 (used to like it as a child but now I just find it annoying)
5. Various Aladdin sequels

ETC

Luckily, John Lassater has saved us all from the threat of the disney sequels. Yay.

I watched it again last night. For the first time ever, I skipped a part. I skipped over 'Love will find a way'. So cringe inducing and melodramatic.

I gave this TLK movie a 4. And I recently saw it for the second time. Reason is, because just like the rating statement indicates, it majorly lacked the feeling that 1 and 3 had. To me, it was almost a completely different ballgame compared to the 1st and 3rd.

I won't say SP is junk. Because I did find some scenes and characters interesting like Kiara, Kovu, and especially for a villain, Zira. And some of the songs were also nice too, which helped. So it wasn't horrible.

But again and for the rating, the main issue I have with the movie is the overall feeling. This was probably due to a new production staff that took it on. And I think Simba's Pride is the TLK movie that fits kids the best.

I gave it a 2. Seriously: It's horrible. The plot was used, the characters changed SO MUCH and where the hell this outlands/outlanders came from?! O.O The only character I really liked, was Zira, and this only just because of her crazy mind. I adore her. And I love Nuka too, he's so... cute ^^ Oh, and I love "He lives in you"! ♥_♥
But except of this, I just... hate it. I even think that TLK 1 1/2 had a better animation and characters.
But what I hated the most was that the hyenas were gone and now there were this outlanders. A story with Kopa and Asnate would be so much more interesting. And this outlanders... I thought everybody hated Scar, from where are these outlanders? I will never get it.
And this upendi-scene was just silly. And I hated the fact that the only two characters I liked died! O.o Simba was a [censored] idiot, Nala had nothing to say and WHAAAAAAAT happend to Timon and Pumbaa? D:>

That's all I have to say xD

I love Simba's Pride. I gave it 9, though, cause, for sure, it's not perfect.

1) Music is awesome, especially "He Lives In You". I almost enjoyed it as much as "Circle of Life". Other songs are great as well.
2) Characters are great and mostly well developed. I don't like how Vitani's put aside. I might like her more if she appeared more. I dislike Zira. So much of meaningless, pure villian for my taste. She'll never replace Scar. I personally like SP Nala. OK, she was put aside, but all the lines she had were meaningful and wise.
3) Plot is good, but I can't say I'm really impressed by too much of "Romeo & Juliet" thing. Simply, it's way too naive for my taste. But nice, still.

8 because It's not as great as the first movie (IMO) the plot was all good and stuff, and I also liked how they gave Simba a buffed ''Arnold Schwarzenkitty'' like look, but Nala's design sucked a bit and she looked better in the first movie as an adult. It's also a pitty Sarabi and Sarafina didn't appear in it though. but besides this, it's almost as good as the first and an excelent sequal.
