Active / inactive tags for users?

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!

Active / inactive tags for users?

Postby FlipMode » June 19th, 2012, 12:31 am

Just wandered if perhaps we could have tags to set ourselves to "inactive" I we are away on holiday or something? At the moment one has to make a thread in the Member HQ area and hope it is seen by all the other members.. So why not have a setting users can change that will show people they are away? Maybe a field under the nicknames one?

No big deal, just think it would be a bit nicer; in addition it could also show whether or not a member is currently banned... Not that we want to see that happening to anyone but sometimes it does happen and having a visible indication that a user is inactive at least lets us know they will not be able to reply to thread or role plays whether banned or just away on holiday or whatever scenario it may be

What about a paw print that would be lit up, or dimmed if the member has set their account as currently inactive? And then have it automatically dim itself IF the member is banned if possible.

Normally when I'm gonna be gone I just say so, and don't worry about it much.

I've never much felt the need to make damn good and sure all members of the forum know that I'm not logging in often xD

This idea is great, as I frequently take extensive breaks from MLK.

We press play, don't press pause.
Progress, march on.
With the veil over our eyes,
we turn our back on the cause.
'Till the day that my uncles can be united by law,
when kids are walking 'round the hallway plagued by pain in their heart.
A world so hateful some would rather die than be who they are.
And a certificate on paper isn't gonna solve it all,
but it's a good place to start.

I quite enjoy this idea :)
It could be quite useful. Especially since I took a year off MLK a while back ^^

Surely it's better to know when a friend is away than not?
I know if you were to leave this site (again) I would rather be aware of that than not. And yeah maybe you could post it in the member den but that way you assume people will read it; this saves the bother of typing up soppy "leaving" messages, just hit a button and be on your way whole also eliminating that doubt.

I think this idea's a good one, too. It could certainly come in handy for when members do have to leave.
