(Private rp for Iri and Nine) Grumpies

[Nine]

Caligo curled his lips at the hyenas, warning the two other males to go with the others before he made another choice. Caligo weren't a fan of hyenas, but he couldn't just send away a expecting mother. He wasn't cruel like some other male lions.
He looked outside, spotting the rust colored female. He leapt down from the rock, barely landing on the stone floor instead of the pool. He headed towards the river, slightly surprised to see the lioness. He ignored her and walked into the river, stopping when the water got to his mane and sat down, enjoying the cold water.

[Iri]

Chaltuu rolled her eyes; it was apparent that the other lion, like her, was a fan of cold water. At least they could relate on one thing.
Flicking her tail, Chaltuu strode past the stranger, not pausing to catch a glimpse of him. This was a one-time hostile meeting- scuffle, leave. That was it, and that was all it would ever be. It wasn't like it was some "fate" for them to travel together. She didn't believe in fate. Sure, she had strong faith in the Spirits, but not fate or destiny. That was stupid in her opinion. She should be able to choose her own life, her own path. No one would be able to tell her something ridiculous like, "Oh, it was your fate that caused you to have red fur and be hated your entire life". If that was the case, she'd most likely claw the other lion's ears off.

[Nine]

Caligo looked after her for a second before raising himself and stretched his body. He flicked one of his short ears, swapping away an annoying fly which was flying around his ear. He licked his lips and padded towards the cavern. He gave her a small look before entering the cave.
His yellow eye shined brightly in the dark cave, his large paws made loud footsteps as he padded in. He sighed and sat down on the large rock. The life of a loner was... Harsh yet sometimes quite easy. You get food for yourself and peace, but smaller places and less friends.
Hearing a cackle he looked downwards and found Tauni sitting by the water pool "Thinking are we?" she asked and smugly, a crazy grin on her face "You do know that isn't your best trait". Caligo narrowed his eye at her and growled.

[Iri]

Chaltuu stopped and plopped down. She started clawing at the rock she was perched on, her long, hooked black claws making a scraping sound as they came into contact with the stone.
She flicked an ear as she heard a hyena's cackle, and the stranger lion's growl. She rolled her eyes. She didn't want to get into some hyena-lion drama, with snarling and taunts and clawing and fur flying absolutely everywhere. It often made her want to march over to the scuffle and just throw either one of the fighting animals against a stone- not that she did. She knew that'd probably just get her throat clawed out and her pelt ripped off- then again, she could handle a weak hyena and a flimsy-legged lion, couldn't she? Of course she could.

[Huh. Chaltuu's so sympathetic, isn't she?]

[Nine]

Caligo glared at the hyena, but soon after ignored her taunts and laughter. He had known Tauni for sometime. It all started when he came to this... rotten land. Tauni who were much younger and curious had followed him around, only leaving him when she had to go home. She would always ask him questions, annoy him and pounce on his tail.
Now when the hyena was larger she was even more annoying. Caligo flattened his ears and closed his eye "Just go into you cavern before I throw all of your friends out" he mumbled and opened his eye as he heard the sound of paw steps. The hyena were slowly heading towards the tunnel, but stopped and turned her head to look at him "You are no fun, you know" she cackled before she leapt into the tunnel.

[Iri]

Chaltuu decided to move on. It was useless to continue listening to a hyena and a lion argue. Besides, it wasn't like they'd attack each other or something. If they did, it was none of her business. Anyways, the stranger looked all tough-and-brusque, he'd deal with whatever happened, whether it was an argument, a fight, blah blah blah...
She lifted herself to her paws and started to pad away, listening to the sounds of vulture's screeches and raven's caws. She twitched her ears as she heard the river rushing furiously and the waterfalls distantly roaring and crashing. She painfully was reminded of Kapuki. She had seen Kapuki once since Chaltuu's exile. Was Kapuki being thrown to the side and neglected, just like Chaltuu herself? Did Uangaze and Kivuli have another cub? Probably. Whatever it was, she hoped it was "normal" and not an obscenity of nature, or an aberration not meant to exist, in Kivuli's terms.

[Nine]

He brushed his mane with his tongue, making his tangle locks clean. Old memories flooded his large mind and he stopped washing his mane.
The thoughts took over him, leaving him in a frozen stage where he just starred into the floor under him, both of his eyes half closed as he mumbled the few things that popped into his head.
"Blood... Pelt... Strange... Out cast... Hell" was some of the few words he spat out before returning to the true world. Blood, the thing his father hoped he had not gotten from him. Pelt, the strange color that had created his pelt. Strange, his emotions and personality. Out cast, a loner he was and I loner he would be. Hell, the deepest place within him.
He shook his head and sighed.
"Stop thinking..." he mumbled and curled up.

[Iri]

Chaltuu sneaked a glance towards the male. It looked like the dark-furred lion was grumbling something. Whatever. It wasn't her concern. Pfft. It was time she stopped paying attention to strangers and focused on surviving on her journey to the mountains. Humph! Of course she'd survive! It wasn't like it was some huge trip that had to be made in one day. She was tough enough to not get killed on her embark to the high, snowy peaks.
The tall, lanky russet-pelted lioness turned on her heel, deciding it was time to leave. She'd never meet that male again, so it was no use watching him any longer or listening to his muttering. Chaltuu flicked her tail and twitched her ear, trying to listen once more for the raven's cries and the vulture's loud, obnoxious- but rather helpful- screeching. Vultures lurked around in the mountains, was what she had heard, so the closer she got to the vultures, the louder the screams, the closer she got to the mountains. Those were her intentions, of course. Get as far away as possible.

[Nine]

Caligo opened his good eye and glanced around. A raven was drinking from the low water beneath him. He sat up and glared down at the crow, his yellow eyes shined with an annoyed glint. His lips curled up into a hiss, which scared the bird out of it's feather and made it fly out of the cave and towards the rust colored female.
Caligo shook his mane and walked into the open field, his head hanging low and his jaws parted as he tasted the scent for prey. He stopped and raised his head high before heading towards some bushes. He crouched down.
A lone zebra were wandering around, looking for water and food options. The ribs was showing on the striped horse and it was clearly weak. Caligo razed towards it, pouncing onto it's back and biting into the neck of the zebra. His weight pulled the prey down to the ground.

(Haven't I told you to go on a diet Caligo? You are getting to fat >:T!)

Chaltuu heard the zebra's weakened cries as she realized that the male was bringing it to the ground. Any other day she would have tried to steal prey from a lion, but that zebra was pitifully skinny, and Chaltuu would probably have to fight if she wanted it. She didn't prefer a scuffle today. Besides, that male would hardly get two mouthfuls from it.
Rolling her pale green eyes as a raven flew past her, Chaltuu started to follow it. Considering that the sky was a violent shade of cobalt, it was rather difficult to see the raven's sleek shape. She narrowed her eyes and sprinted after the bird, her paws streaking under her and brushing the grass aside.
