A Private RP for Labatis

Kapuki nodded, and Chaltuu just flicked her ear as she watched Shujaa swallow mouthful after mouthful of the milk. Kapuki sighed with relief, but worry at the same time- happy that she found someone to help nurse Shujaa, but concerned about what kind of arrangements they'd make. She would detest being away from her baby sister for moons before being allowed to see her again, and she was determined not to let her sister starve.

Angus looked over his shoulder to see the other members behind them. "It'll be a lot of work, and Taboraa would pass by probably tomorrow, but we could stay just outside the border. That way we aren't a bother, and whenever Shujaa is hungry, Tawnu will be there to feed her. We can hunt farther out and return closer to the border, so we can't possibly be hunting their prey." He glanced back at the lioness feeding Shujaa and the rest of her cubs. Some were curling up around her paws to sleep, while others worked on the last bits of milk.

[You have every right to kick me for the extremely late response.]

Chaltuu nodded. "Sounds reasonable," she grunted. She watched Shujaa nurse greedily, before curling up and falling asleep.
Kapuki sighed with relief. Though Shujaa wouldn't gain wait instantly, she could rest assured knowing that her sister wouldn't starve to death.

[After all my late responses? xD I don't think so.]

Angus let out a small smile, seeing Shujaa finally full and was drifting to sleep. It was a good thing too, considering Tawnu was almost 'out'. They could let Tawnu know about leaving not so far off, since she was the one who'd have to help feed the cub until she learned to eat meat.

"Thanks for your help," Kapuki murmured to Angus. She glanced back at Shujaa, her baby sister snuggled up against Tanwu's belly. Though Shujaa didn't look much like Tanwu or the other cubs, she seemed content with the circumstances- a warm place to sleep, someone to nurse from. Kapuki wondered if the fact that Uangaze not helping the cub nurse contributed to Shujaa's weakness.

Angus waited a bit longer until most of the other pride members were distant, then crouched down to where he was leveled with Tawnu. "We won't be far off, but we ask if you can help Shujaa until she can eat meat. We plan to be just outside the border, and only come when she needs to nurse."

Tawnu lifted her head, looking over to Angus. She was perfectly fine with helping cubs, since she has had more cubs in the past. "Only if it is alright with you." She spoke softly, referring to the two young lionesses before her. Tawnu began to notice how one was red-pelted, which was rather odd. She had never seen a red lion before, so she just assumed it ran in her genes, or was just uncommon as a white lion. This fact didn't bother her, it just made her curious.

"I don't mind," Chaltuu said. Though she still had her signature gruff scowl, her voice was a bit less brusque. She was glad that no one in the pride had mentioned her slightly peculiar fur colour.
Kapuki nodded. "I don't mind either... As long as Shujaa can survive, I'm fine," she agreed softly, nodding in gratitude.

Tawnu let out a small smile, then lifted the small cub towards the creamer lioness, who was closer. "Then I suppose you'd like to head out now. Very shortly, a couple members of the pride will be checking the borders, and you don't want to be seen- since it will cause a lot of confusion and anger." She was happy that she could have helped the cub, and in time as well. At the moment, the best she could do was hope they made is safely outside the territory. "I'd come along and escort you, but I need to stay here with my own cubs." That was the only thing that made her guilty. It would seem selfish to just stay back and watch them leave, but she had no other choice. Her cubs were too young to be left alone, and she was extremely exhausted by now.

Angus lifted himself up, relieved that Tawnu took it well. She was right about having to leave soon, they didn't need to be adding more disruption to what they have already created.

[I'd think we were both late with our last few posts. I need to stop going inactive.]

[Exactly.]

"It's fine," Kapuki reassured Tawnu. "Thank you," she added thankfully. She grasped her sister's scruff and dipped her head in gratitude. She was genuinely grateful for Tawnu's help. She assumed her sister would have died of starvation if not for the mother lioness' assistance. She flicked her tail, nodding for Angus to lead.

Tawnu watched with joy as the three lions began to leave, and she laid her head back on the soft grass, waiting for sleep to overcome her.

Angus nodded, then sped up his pace a little more to where he was in the lead. He'd seen a small opening not so far from where they entered, but Angus would have to remember where they came in to find it. "If you can find the small part we came in from, I know a small opening nearby. However, the other lions may be in the way, so we could look for a different area to rest in." He was a bit exhausted to be honest with himself, mostly because of all the stress- well, most of it, escaped him. Though Angus kept his head held high, and he parted his jaws slightly to 'taste' the air for a more convenient place to rest in.
