Revenge - Shadowfax and Tsuki [Private]

[Shadowfax]

The creature in the trees laughed as Zuberi leapt out the tree and back onto the forest floor. It was quite a young sounding laugh, yet due to the shadows in the tree, you couldn't make out what it was. Only the cool blue eyes could be seen.

"Hehehehe, that's not right... You're not supposed to climb down like thaaaaat!" the creature said, in a female voice.

Nova watched the eys closely as the creature began to move through the branches, with every second that passed she felt more uneasy about the whole thing.

"SHOW YOURSELF!" She too yelled, standing alongside Zuberi.

"Now where is the fun in that?" She replied.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi frowned as this creature seemed to criticise his climbing skills. Cheetahs wee built for running though they could climb if they had to. They weren't like leopards who spent a majority of their time in the trees. Zuberi didn't like this creature one bit. Not only did he not know what it was, but it was mocking him. He hissed again and peered through the dense foliage to try and get a view of this creature. When Nova roared, he winced slightly.

She must still be having problems hearing

But when the creature replied he frowned.

"There is two of us and one of you. You are outnumbered. I'd show yourself before things get messy."

[Shadowfax]

"Buuuut. I am up here, and you two are all the way down there. And the little lioness is wounded and the cheetah can't climb trees. So... even if I am outnumbered, it doesn't really matter.

With a swift leap, she leapt onto another branch. As she passed through the trees she made sure to knock a few branches loose, one of which hit Zuberi on the head and missed Nova by a few inches. Nova was getting annoyed now and squinted her eyes to see if she could make out the figure, but it was no good. There were too many shadows in the trees and the creature was above them.

"Coward" Nova muttered.

[Tsuki]

"Ow!" Zuberi winced as the branch hit him on the head and he shook it in an attempt to clear it. He hissed in annoyance and looked up into the trees but it was so difficult to make anything out. He looked over at Nova.

"We may as well leave it be. It's not worth our time or trouble."

He stood up and shook himself. In truth, he was getting rather unnerved by this creature and wanted to get away as quickly as possible without fuss or injury.

"Besides, we should find your daughter."

[Shadowfax]

The creature in the trees laughed once again as Zuberi shook his head, but Nova locked eyes with it and continued to growl. Zuberi soon bought her back to her senses though and she nodded her head.

"Right. I only sent her to look for water... she can't have gone that far" Nova said, ignoring the creature in the trees giggling.

"Oh... the little lioness. If she went that way then... she's doomed"

[Tsuki]

Zuberi frowned. Water? In a place like this? He would be surprised if they found any. Or anything edible. But he agreed that they needed to find Vex and get out of here as quickly as possible. He didn't like it one bit. He was about to wander off when the strange creature spoke again. But what it said sent a cold shiver down Zuberi's spine.

"Why? What is that way? Is Vex in trouble?"

[Shadowfax]

"That way is Leopard territory" The creature said in her high pitched and sweet voice as Nova looked up at the shadows.

At the mention of leopards, she felt her claws retract almost out of instinct. A cry of a young cub ran through her head and she struggled to keep the tears back. She hoped Zuberi hadn't noticed.

"The leopards territory is over to the north of the jungle" Nova argued back.

"Not anymore it's not" The creature replied, finally stepping out of the shadows. It was a panther.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi glanced over at Nova when she mentioned Leopards being to the North. How did she know? Had see ever seen a leopard? Maybe she didn't know this area after all. Maybe she had forced him into the unknown. But when the creature stepped out of the shadows, Zuberi had to blink a few times to make sure he wasn't imagining things. It was as though the shadow itself had taken shape. He tilted his head in slightly. The creature was actually rather beautiful with her sleek dark fur and ice blue eyes.

"What are you?" he asked almost breathlessly.

[Shadowfax]

"A shadow cat..." Nova said with annoyance.

"Noooooo... A panther you grumpy lioness" She said, daringly leaping down onto the next branch.

She chuckled when she saw that Nova found this annoying and looked over to Zuberi who seemed to be staring at her. This panther was young, not much older than Vex, yet she was also very cocky for her age and that would surely get her killed one day.

"Why don't you come down here and say that to my face?!" Nova snapped.

[Tsuki]

Zuberi watched the cat as it gracefully lept down from another branch. He could now see how he hadn't noticed her before. She blended in perfectly with her surroundings. Unlike him. He stood out like a sore paw out here. But when Nova snapped at the Panther, Zuberi turned to look at her.

"Hey back off!"

He took himself by surprise and looked back at the panther. He then looked back at Nova.

"If Vex is in trouble we need all the help we can get. This Shadow Cat knows this area."

He looked back at the Panther.

"Will you help us?"
