I think having them as friends helps Simba keep in mind how important all creatures are in the Circle of Life.

Well when I want anyone on earth to see me I can appear as whatever size I wish. When I appeared to Simba in the jungle I did so in the large and regal manner that Simba remembered me as.
I know you saw the Political advantage in setting Kovu and Kiara up. However did you also see their potential as a couple?
