History: Born into a very wealthy family and brought up to be quite prim and proper. He loves his horses but has never been interesting in jumping or dressage, just long country rides. When Rhian entered his life quite abruptly, he realized how uptight and cruel his parents were about people of lower classes and when they started mistreating her he began to consider running away. The moment came when his older brother tried to take advantage of Rhian, he managed to 'save' her and they left the house on the horses. Not long later, the flu virus broke out and the two are immune to it.

History: Until the age of 14, she only ever knew the daily routine of the Children's Care Home. She was told at an earlier age that her parents died in a train crash. Hope came when a wealthy family from London wanted to foster a teenage girl until she was 18 to get better media attention. Unfortunately, she did not fit in there and was made to stay, receiving verbal abuse and the occasional push around from the family for two years.
The only person who treated her nicely was the youngest son, Edward. They became good friends; friendship later lead to romance. Eddie even taught her how to ride a horse and while his family was out, he'd take her on long rides. One day, Edward's older brother Theodore found out about their relationship and was instantly jealous; finding the younger girl attractive anyway. He decided to 'show her what a real man was like' and to 'teach her a lesson', luckily, he had not got very far when Eddie turned up. They escaped on horses, with a fair bit of money and supplies with them too. They went into hiding before the outbreak.
