Does Shani stay in the Outlands until the female cub is a cub? Or does she get sent back with the female cub?

When Zira's hostage plan fails, she decides to kill Shani off but Vita, surprisingly, stops it. It's in Vita's nature, she doesn't like to kill or she killing without a reason. And Shani manages to get away with the cub.
