Personally, the more someone insists defensively that a Traumatic event does not bother them, the more it obviously is affecting them, I've seen this too many times, its called a Defensive/Avoidant attitude. In a way they want help, but they dont know how to talk or tell others about it, so they put up a defense as to push it away or others, in actual hopes that some will actually ask or help them with what they cannot talk about or deal with, rather a Dichotomy/Paradoxical Mindset of sorts. Eg, whats called a "Masked" cry for help, in Psychiatric terms..
